Think I need to have this recording!
I found this interview with a violinist I have long admired, Gidon Kremer. In keeping with recent interest in the study of contemporary classical music, I enjoyed listening to his thoughts on his new recording: following the recording of the first Glass Violin concerto, a staple in DG’s contemporary music catalog, Gidon Kremer returns to the Yellow Label after more than a decade with the new recording of Philip Glass’ Second Violin Concerto “The American Seasons.” Kremer’s first solo concerto album in many years, Seasons also features works of Arvo Part, Giya Kancheli and Shigeru Umebayashi, performed with the Kremerata Baltica.
Think I need to have this recording! I took the time this morning to read a wonderful article in the NYTimes by Anthony Tommasini about Chopin, especially well-played in two recent recitals by two pianists I have long admired, Emmanuel Ax and Stephen Hough. May I suggest that you read, and listen to a performance or two by these pianists. I know you will enjoy!!
